Sit 'n' Go Tournament Poker

A sit and go tournament is usually one where there are only ten players. Normally these tournaments are played online. You can buy one at $22 with $20 towards the tourney and another $2 as the fees. The winning award is $100.

Ordinarily a sit and go tournament of poker games is played with only one table though a few sites allow double table games. Such poker games start at $5 + $1 buy-ins though $10 + $1 seems a better option. Buy-ins can go up to $100 + $9. First, second, and third ranking players get 50%, 30%, and 20% of the prize pools.

Each of the players will receive a few chips initially. They could range from 500 – 1500 chips. You can wait for better hands without eating away chips for blinds. The blinds however go up after every ten hands.

The game is a bit difficult. It cannot be calculated exactly how many hands you will see in total as the people may be dropping off at different rates and at different phases of the game. On average you might see around 70-100 hands even when you register a victory. You may not get the best of hands all the time therefore.

Natural tendency of the people is to play loose during the first couple of hands and then go tight and play only the good hands. The hope that leads them on is that they can wait out blinds and allow others to drop. However, this may not be the best of the strategies to follow.

You need to be careful about chips. It is no good having 100 chips left when the blinds are merely 25/50.

Losing too many chips at the commencement of the game will make your condition vulnerable with not much left to workout in later stages.
